FAQ’s
We’ve been getting a lot of really great questions lately, and we wanted to answer some of them here for everyone to benefit from!
What areas do you serve?
We have clients all over the greater Delaware Valley area. We are located on the Main Line and work from Merion Station and Narberth, and all the stops in between, to Wayne, Devon, Paoli, Malvern and on to West Chester and Southern Chester County. We’ve had clients in the Bethlehem/Allentown area, as well as the Jersey Shore. Our favorite beach towns are Ocean City, Stone Harbor and Avalon. And of course the city of Philadelphia.
How do you work with clients?
Our process with clients is holistic. We like to help you with an entire room or several rooms at once, so that your home has a cohesive feel when we are finished. We begin with overarching goals-what do you want your home to feel like? What story are you trying to tell? How do you want your home to function daily and on special occasions? How can we take seeming disparate likes/wants and make them concordant?
Once your needs are determined, we work to create a design vision where every piece works as part of a whole. We have a proven process that ensures you will recognize yourself in every selection, so that the end result is a true reflection of who you are.
Carefully uncovering your personal style and implementing it into beautiful spaces is our mission and it’s so rewarding for everyone when it all comes together.
What is your own personal style?
I want to say this doesn’t matter, because I am serving you as a client-and put my own preferences aside, but nevertheless, I am asked about it.
My personal style would most likely be characterized as transitional. I love clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and carefully curated accessories along with family mementos and heirlooms. I absolutely LOVE fine rugs and consider them not only art, but the foundation of any room, from which the entire design is inspired. And I love every style of rug, from the most traditional Persian to modern patterns. They are endlessly inspiring to me.
Isn’t it so fun to be a designer?
Often, yes! Some parts are not so fun. There are lots of moving parts to full service design, from furniture logistics to back orders to construction project management, and a lot of things can go wrong. We do our best to handle all the stressful situations that come along with design and renovations so that you don’t have to. It IS incredibly rewarding to help uncover your dream spaces and manifest them into reality. We will feel just as excited as you do when everything is painted, installed, delivered and accessorized!
Can you help with contractors?
Yes! We have a great team of sub contractors that we have worked with for many years, that we can recommend to you, to handle any part of your home renovation. It’s very hard to find reliable, highly skilled people and we are thrilled to be able to refer craftsman to our clients, especially when it’s hard to even get a call back from some contractors.
We offer project management services to our clients-coordinating all parts of the project. Making sure the right contractor is on site, in the right order, takes a lot of stress out of the process. Any time you are making changes in your home, it can be disruptive and emotionally challenging. We are here to help this go as smoothly as possible.
How much do you charge?
We work on a project fee basis so that you are aware of your design costs up front. This fee is based on the scope of work, room sizes, complexity of the design and our past history of hours spent on similar projects.
How will you make sure we will love the final outcome?
When hiring a designer, it is hard to imagine how they will understand you well enough to create personal spaces that really resonate with you. But we have never had a client say “this just doesn’t feel like me.” Our process is very thorough and proven over time. We use all the tools we have honed in order to get to know you and present a design vision that you can see, touch and feel.
We may suggest a choice that makes you a little nervous. But this is a good thing. Taking you outside your box, just a little bit, can give you dynamic results that you never would have dreamed of, but absolutely love in the end. I promise we won’t take to too far from your comfort zone.
We hope you learned something! If you have any other burning questions, drop them in the comments!
