How to Bring Your 2025 Design Goals to Life

Do you have big design dreams for 2025? Now is the time to start planning! We’ve laid out a few key things to consider to help you approach your design goals with ease.

Step 1

Ask yourself: What type of project would improve my quality of life the most?

Think about the way you live and what types of changes will give you the biggest bang for your buck. Sometimes all you need is paint. Giving every room a fresh coat in new colors can be transformative. Or maybe you have a bathroom that has only one sink and you long for two. A kitchen renovation will probably be the most costly, but redesigning for better function and an updated look will not only make day to day life better, but it will add to your home value. Always dreamed of a professionally designed family room where all the elements work together? One of the most used rooms in your house deserves to be well thought out and filled with quality furnishings.

Step 2

Consider: How long will it take to plan for your project?

If you’d like to engage a designer like me, you’ll want to reach out to them as soon as possible. It can take a month or two to get on busy designer's schedules. Once you are onboarded with your designer, the planning phase can take up to 3 months depending on the project. Getting started now will mean you are ready to enjoy your new spaces by the time next summer and 2025 holidays roll around.

Step 3

Determine your budget.

It is so very important to be realistic about what you can achieve with the budget you have. An experienced designer can help you understand what things cost now- whether it is furniture, a new kitchen, bathroom, or a whole first floor overhaul. If you haven't done any updates to your home for a while, be prepared for a little sticker shock. But remember: you get what you pay for, and quality finishes and furnishings are worth investing in!

Step 4

Start dreaming!

Pinterest, Houzz or even Google Images can bring you inspiration, so start clicking save! If you have a friend with a beautiful new renovation that you love, snap some pics if they don't mind. Use keywords that describe your style. If you aren't sure what that is, take a look at the captions on photos you like. Shelter magazines online like Architectural Digest, Domino, Dwell, and Elle Decor have lots of ideas to spark your imagination. Just don't look at HGTV. Please! Most of those designs are either too trendy or not realistic for most families.

We hope you feel more empowered to bring your dream home to life- you deserve it! Your New Year is filled with potential to make your home its absolute best. Cheers to manifesting your 2025 Design Goals!
